Since 1988, Telstra has been the Official Telecommunications Partner of the Australian Olympic Committee.

Telstra Heromessage has enabled Australians across the country to send a picture message, text, or email their support to athletes competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Since its inception, the program has been running from strength to strength with over 90,000 messages sent to athletes who competed in Athens in 2004.
