Surf Life Saving Australia

Our beaches are iconic symbols of Australia and so too are our world-famous lifesavers. From Bondi to Bells Beach and right around Australia, Telstra is supporting our Surf Life Saving community.

The Telstra Assistance Fund provides equipment for life saving activities, while in the classroom, valuable surf safety lessons are taught to our youngest through the Telstra Beach to Bush program.

The Telstra Beach to Bush program is one of the largest and most innovative surf education programs ever undertaken in Australia. The program offers school age children in regional Australia an introduction to surf life saving with the assistance of trained surf lifesavers using life saving equipment. Classroom based surf safety lessons are delivered by a number of knowledgeable facilitators, most of whom are volunteer surf life savers. The program has been running in schools in remote locations in an attempt to increase awareness of the risks associated with the surf and local waterways, as well as ways to minimise these risks.
